I am back on the Internet. My primary server, XBox 360, PS3, Primary Desktop, Primary and Secondary TiVo are all setup. But my NAS is still down; and my speakers aren’t yet setup. Also my DLP TV’s lamp appears to be failing, so I ordered a replacement.
I just got a new XBox 360. I am still not great at Halo 3. But here is me (in red) shooting a friend in the face with a rocket. In the face. As we fly passed each other on the narrows map.
I have been playing with the development build of WebKit. For those who don’t know, WebKit is the backend for Apple’s web browser (Safari.) The WebKit has nightly builds for Mac and Windows. I had no trouble getting the source from SVN and building clean. I am impressed with their progress over the release Safari. With the WebKit that is currently under development, web pages seem to render faster. It also passes the Acid3 test. Does your browser pass? http://acid3.acidtests.org/ The instructions for a clean build in Leopard are very simple:
Get XCode. (either off your install DVD or from apple.com)
Obtain your favorite SVN client (I like using fink.)
Sorry it has been a while since I posted. I just upgraded the backend (mostly just security updates.) I got a new Mac Pro. I have named it Silverlight (not like Microsoft’s useless flash alternative.) It has 10GB of RAM, 1.5TB of HD, 2×3.0Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. So now that I finally have a modern desktop, I should be able to host Civilization 4 games in the endgame. I am also looking forward to being able to transcode TiVo recordings without resorting to 18 hour batch jobs.
The civilization 4 save game right after we destroyed the Germans is attached here. The last session was on February 27, 2008 and the next one should be tomorrow (February 29, 2008)
Last night Taynaron and I started a new Civ 4 game. Attached is the save of where we left off. There are some AI players that people can take place of if anyone wishes to join. My Civ Save As of Feb 7, 2008
